Environment ministers of European Union (EU) member states met here Thursday to put focus on eco-innovation as a key enabler for the circular economy.
On the first day of the two-day informal ministerial meeting, the ministers and delegates explored eco-innovation topics such as transparency and sustainable financing for smart cities in a breakout session.
Simon Upton, environment director at the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, and Karmenu Vella, European commissioner for Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, are among the attendants.
The second day of the discussion will focus on climate change, specifically on the expectations, opportunities and potential challenges related to the promotion of the transformative vision and goals of the Paris Agreement in collaboration with non-state actors.
